The Delaware SPCA and The Upper Crust of Georgetown are partnering together to bring you “The Dog Days of Summer” with a
Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 11:00 am
until 2:00 am.
People are encouraged to bring their furry friends in the Upper Crust Herb and Flower Garden located a 7 East Market St in Georgetown, DE 19947. “Yappy” Lunch will be the culmination of using Georgetown Parklet for two weeks.
Individuals are being encouraged to make SPCA online donations at http://www.delspca.org/one-time-donation/ , to adopt a pet from the SPCA Georgetown Shelter by searching the online link http://www.delspca.org/search-our-georgetown-shelter/ and obtain a dog license at http://www.petdata.com/for-pet-owners/dlw/license-online

The Upper Crust, “Birthplace of the HistoricGeorgetown Art Crawl”, at 7 E. Market Street in Georgetown DE is very excited to present returning “world-class acrylic native Delawarean artist Ron Lightcap with his exhibit “Life in Sussex County” at their “Coffee shop and more …” The exhibit begins Monday, July 11, 2016 and will conclude Friday, August 6, 2016. A “Meetthe Artist” is scheduled for Thursday, July 21, 2016 from12:30 pm – 2:00 pm where individuals will be able to discuss Ron’s inspiration.Light refreshments will be served, there is no charge for the event.
Ron was born in Wilmington and attended Wilmington Public Schools. As a child,he developed an interest in art and attended the Delaware Art Museum’schildren’s program on Saturday mornings where many wonderful artists in theWilmington area would volunteer their time and share their talents.
Ron graduated in 1960 from Connecticut’s Artists School of Commercial Art andIllustration. However, after 37 years taking an early retirement from a bankingcareer in the Metropolitan Philadelphia area and the U. S Army, he and hiswife, Ruthann, moved to Long Neck, DE and the Sentinel Gallery @ sentinelgallery.com .
In February 2014, Ron was one of three artists who exhibited “Visions ofGeorgetown” an interpretation of photo artistry at The Upper Crust and previouslyhas had a solo exhibit here.
At present, much of Ron’s work on canvas is from life’s early memories andlocal areas of interest in Wilmington and Sussex County.
The Upper Crust serves made from scratch baked goods, fair trade organiccoffee, breakfast & lunch in a casual setting. Part of The Upper Crust’scommitment to the community is to offer gallery space to local artists whomight not otherwise have an opportunity to show their works. The 2014 Historic Georgetown Art Crawl will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10:00 am -4:00 pm in downtown Georgetown. This is a rain or shine juried art event, and will feature artists & artisans, and area art leagues & art guilds from throughout our region.

Georgetown Art’s Crawl story
What started out as a discussion about an "Artist Reunion" has evolved and six of the artist who have exhibited their work at The Upper Crust will be participating in the Inaugural 2013 Historic Georgetown Art Crawl.
We are very grateful for numerous volunteers, individuals and organizations who have assisted with putting this year's event together.
A special thank you to Beth Collard, who has been Bruce's Art Instructor, was the first Artist to exhibit at The Upper Crust and the mentor for "The Gallery Wall" Beth has her own studio
and is now the current President of the Delaware Water Color Society.
